Ideal flow rate source (TL)#
Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#
The Ideal flow rate source (TL) block is an ideal source of mechanical energy in a thermal hydraulic network.
Hint
The source can maintain a predetermined mass flow regardless of the differential pressure.
Important
There is no flow resistance and heat exchange with the environment in the block.
Hint
The block can operate with and without performing work on the medium.
If isentropic mode is selected, then the following expression is valid for operation (1) :
where:
\( ho_{med}=\frac{ ho_A + ho_B}{2}\), [kg/m\(^3\)];
\(\dot m\) – medium mass flow rate, [kg/s];
\(p_A\), \(p_B\) – medium pressure at inlet and outlet, [Pa].
Then the energy conservation equation (2):
where:
\(\phi_A\) – energy flow at the input, [W];
\(\phi_B\) – energy flow at the output, [W];
\(\phi_{oper}\) – power transmitted to the medium, [W].
If mode without work is selected (3) :
