Battery (Table-based)#

block

Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#

This block simulates battery operation based on user-defined load characteristics. Instead of theoretical formulas, its behavior is determined by empirical data.

Basic principle:

The model calculates the battery’s voltage and internal resistance at any given time by interpolating values from the tables you provide. This data, along with the load current, determines the battery’s operating state.

Key parameters set by the user:

  1. Assembly configuration:

    • Number of cells connected in series: Determines the total voltage of the battery.

    • Maximum cell capacity (A\(\cdot\)h): Determines the energy capacity of one cell.

    • Initial Charge Level (%): Sets the initial state of the cell’s capacity.

  2. Volt-ampere characteristic (Voltage):

    • You specify pairs of values: charge level points SOC_U (%) and voltage points depending on the charge level U(SOC_U) (V).

    • The model uses these points to plot the discharge/charge curve for a single cell.

  3. Temperature-charging characteristic of the resistance of one cell:

    • Grid axes: SOC_R (%) charge points and TEMP_R (°C) temperature points.

    • You provide a matrix R_CELL(SOC_R, TEMP_R) (mOhm) that specifies the internal resistance of one cell for each combination of state of charge (SOC) and temperature in that grid.
