Ideal flow rate source (P)#
Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#
The Ideal flow rate source (P) block represents the ideal source of mechanical energy in a pneumatic network.
Hint
The source can maintain a predetermined mass flow regardless of the differential pressure.
Important
There is no flow resistance and heat exchange with the environment in the block.
Hint
The block can operate with and without performing work on gas.
If the mode with isentropic work is selected, then the following expression is valid for an ideal gas (1) :
where:
\(\gamma=\frac{c_p}{c_v}\)
\(C_p\) – molar heat capacity at constant pressure, [\(\frac{J}{mol\cdot К}\)];
\(C_V\) – molar heat capacity at constant volume, [\(\frac{J}{mol\cdot К}\)];
\(p_A\) – inlet pressure, [Pa];
\(p_B\) – outlet pressure, [Pa];
\(T_A\) – inlet temperature, [K];
\(T_B\) – outlet temperature, [K].
Work in progress (2) :
where:
\(\dot m_A\), \(\dot m_B\) – mass flow rate at inlet and outlet, [kg/s];
\(h_A\), \(h_B\) – gas enthalpy at inlet and outlet, [kJ/kg];
\(w_A\), \(w_B\) – gas velocity at inlet and outlet, [m/s].
Then the energy conservation equation (3) :
where:
\(\phi_A\) – input energy flow, [W];
\(\phi_B\) – output energy flow, [W];
\(\phi_{oper}\) – power transmitted to gas, [W].
If no work mode is selected (4):
