Gas properties (P)#

block

Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#

 The Gas properties (P) block defines the gas properties for an pneumatic network.

 To set the ideal gas properties, you must add this block to the pneumatic network. If this block is not added, air is used by default.

Properties of an ideal gas

Gas density (1):

(1)#\[\rho = \frac{p}{R\cdot T}\]

where:

 p - gas pressure, [Pa];

 R - specific gas constant;

 T - gas temperature, [℃].

Dynamic viscosity (2):

(2)#\[\mu = \mu_0 \cdot (\frac{T_0+C}{T+C})\cdot (\frac{T}{T_0})^{\frac {3}{2}}\]

 \(\mu_0\) - dynamic viscosity at nominal temperature;

 T\(_0\) - nominal temperature, [℃];

 C - Sutherland constant.

Kinematic viscosity (3):

(3)#\[\nu =\frac{\mu}{\rho}\]

Isobaric heat capacity (4):

(4)#\[c_p =\frac{c_v+R}{M}\]

where:

 c\(_v\) - molar heat capacity at constant volume;

 M - molar mass.

thermal conductivity (5):

(5)#\[\lambda =\lambda_0 \cdot (\frac{T}{T_0})^n\]

where:

 \(\lambda_0\) - thermal conductivity at nominal temperature;

 n - Temperature dependence exponent of thermal conductivity.
