Battery thermal model with thermal management#
Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#
This block models the battery as a thermal mass and calculates its temperature taking into account two parallel heat exchange circuits:
Natural convection with the environment.
Forced convection (thermostat) using a circulating coolant.
Operating principle:
Battery temperature is calculated based on battery losses and heat dissipated through both convection circuits. The block simulates the operation of the battery cooling/heating system. To turn on the thermostat system, you need to send the corresponding command to the input port Thermal management system control of the block.
Input signals of the model:
Ambient temperature, °C
Coolant temperature, °C
Thermostat control signal (e.g. 0/1 for on/off)
Output signal:
Current battery temperature, °C
