Ideal flow rate source (IH)#
Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#
The Ideal flow rate source (IH) block is an ideal source of mechanical energy in a isothermal hydraulic network.
Hint
The source can maintain a predetermined mass flow regardless of the differential pressure.
Important
There is no flow resistance and heat exchange with the environment in the block.
Hint
All the energy imparted to the liquid during the operation of the source in question goes towards performing work on it, since there is no change in the internal energy of the liquid in an isothermal system.
When performing isothermal work, the following expression is valid (1):
where:
\( ho_{med}=\frac{ ho_A + ho_B}{2}\), [kg/m\(^3\)];
\(\dot m\) – medium mass flow rate, [kg/s];
\(p_A\), \(p_B\) – medium pressure at inlet and outlet, [Pa].
