Radiative heat transfer#

block

Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#

 The Radiative heat transfer block describes the transfer of heat between bodies by radiation.

 Heat flow in a block, according to the Stefan-Boltzmann law (1) :

(1)#\[ \mathrm{Q}=\mathrm{k}\cdot \mathrm{F}\cdot \left(T_{1}^{4}-T_{2}^{4}\right) \]

where:

 \(k\) - radiation coefficient, [\(\frac{\mathrm{W}}{m^{2}\mathrm{\cdot }\mathrm{℃}^{4}}\)];

 \(F\) - surface area of the radiating body, [m\(^2\)];

 \(T_1\) - body temperature 1, [℃];

 \(T_2\) - body temperature 2, [℃].

 The radiation coefficient is determined according to the following formulas:

  • For flat geometry (2)

(2)#\[ k=\frac{\sigma }{\frac{1}{\epsilon _{1}}+\frac{1}{\epsilon _{2}}-1} \]

where:

 \( \sigma \) - Stefan-Boltzmann constant;

 \(\epsilon_{1}\) - degree of surface blackness;

 \(\epsilon_{2}\) - degree of receiving surface blackness.

  • For cylindrical geometry (3):

(3)#\[ k=\frac{\sigma }{\frac{1}{\epsilon _{1}}+\frac{1-\epsilon _{2}}{\epsilon _{2}}\cdot \frac{r_{1}}{r_{2}} } \]

where:

 \(r_1\) - radius of the radiating object, [m];

 \(r_2\) - radius of the receiving object, [m].
