Relay with variable deadband and hysteresis#

block

Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#

 The Relay with variable deadband and hysteresis block simulates the operation of a relay with variable hysteresis (variable return area (RA)) and variable deadband (DB). The value of DB and the value of RA are specified by the block’s input signals. The block is described by the equations:

  • If y(t-∆t) < 0 (1):

(1)#\[\begin{split} y =\begin{cases}-1 , & \ x_0-x_2\leq -x_1\\0,& x_0-x_2\leq x_1\\1,& x_0-x_2> x_1\end{cases} \end{split}\]
  • If y(t-∆t) < 1 (2):

(2)#\[\begin{split} y =\begin{cases}-1 , & \ x_0 \leq-x_1\\0,& \ x_0 \leq x_1\\1,& x_0>x_1\end{cases} \end{split}\]
  • If y(t-∆t)≥0 (3):

(3)#\[\begin{split} y =\begin{cases}-1 , & \ x_0+x_2<-x_1\\0,& \ x_0+x_2< x_1\\1,& x_0-x_2\geq x_1\end{cases} \end{split}\]

where:

 y(t-∆t) – the value of the block output signal at the previous integration step;

 y – the value of the block output signal at the current integration step;

 \(x_0\) – the value of the input signal (the value is taken from the first input of the block);

 \(x_1\) – the value of DB (the value is taken from the second input of the block);

 \(x_2\) – the value of RA (the value is taken from the third input of the block).

 The static characteristic of the block looks like this:
