Absorber (MF)#

block

Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#

 The Absorber (MF) block models the process of absorption of a multicomponent medium.

Mass Conservation Law (1) :

(1)#\[\dot m_A+\dot m_B=0\]

where:

 \(\dot m_A\) – mass flow rate at the inlet, [kg/s];

 \(\dot m_B\) – mass flow rate at the outlet, [kg/s].

Law of conservation of energy (2) :

(2)#\[\phi_A+\phi_B=0\]

where:

 \(\phi_A\) - energy flow at the input, [W];

 \(\phi_B\) - energy flow at the output, [W].

Kremser equation for calculating absorption efficiency (3) :

(3)#\[x_1=x_2-\frac{A^{N+1}-A}{A^{N+1}-1}\cdot (x_2 - x_0)\]

where:

 \(x_1\) – final concentration of the component in the liquid (at the outlet of the absorber);

 \(x_2\) – initial concentration of the component in the liquid (at the entrance to the absorber);

 \(x_0\) – equilibrium concentration;

 \(N\) – number of theoretical plates;

 \(A\) – absorption factor (4) :

(4)#\[A=\frac{1}{K}\]

where \(K\) is the Absorption efficiency coefficient.
