DC-DC converter (average)#

block

Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#

The DC-DC converter (average) unit is a controlled DC converter. The block is controlled by the duty cycle. Depending on the type of control, the coefficient can be set inside the block properties (internal) or by an external input signal (external). The duty cycle shall be limited to 0-1. The block has three types: step-down, step-up, step-down - step-up.

The input and output values of voltages and currents are determined by equations that depend on the type of converter.

Step-down (1):

(1)#\[U_2=DutyCycle \cdot U_1=DutyCycle \cdot i_1, i_2=DutyCycle \cdot i_1\]

Step-up (2):

(2)#\[U_2=\frac{U_1}{1-DutyCycle}, i_2=\frac{i_1}{1-DutyCycle}\]

Step-down - step-up (3):

(3)#\[U_2=\frac{DutyCycle \cdot U_1}{1-DutyCycle}, i_2=\frac{DutyCycle \cdot i_1}{1-DutyCycle}\]

The block has 2 electrical inputs and outputs. The control input is available depending on the type of circuit breaker control. With internal control, the duty cycle is set in the block properties.
