On-load tap changer#
Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#
On-load tap changer (OTC) is used for operational switching associated with constant load changes (for example, the network load will be different during the day and at night). Depending on the voltage and power of the transformer, the OTC can change the transformation ratio within the range of ±10 to ±16% (approximately 1.5% per branch). Regulation is carried out on the high voltage side, since the current strength there is lower, and accordingly, the OTC device is simpler and cheaper to make. Regulation can be performed either automatically or manually.
