Root mean square#

block

Block appearance in REPEAT VISION#

 This block calculates the RMS value of the input quantity. The following formula is used for calculations, which is true when the decimation factor of project fundamental discretization frequency is equal to 1 or the sampling time (frequency) is equal (equal) to the integration step (the value inverse of the integration step) (1):

(1)#\[ U_{RMS}\>=\>\sqrt{\frac{1}{T}\>\cdot\>\int_{t\>-T\>}^{t}{U\left(t\right)^2}\cdot ∆t} \]

where:

 \(U_{RMS}\) - RMS value of the input quantity;

 \(T\) - period of the input quantity;

 \(∆t\) - project integration step.

 Decimation under conditions other than the above changes the calculation method to the following (2):

(2)#\[ U_{RMS}\>=\>\sqrt{\frac{1}{T}\>\cdot\>\int_{t_i\>-T\>}^{t_i}{U\left(t_i\right)^2}\cdot ∆t_i)} \]

where \(∆t_i\) - sampling period.
