Heat exchange#

The Heat Exchange library for thermal process modeling provides a specialized set of tools for designing thermal models of equipment and systems with various topologies. It enables the creation of zero- and one-dimensional (0D/1D) models operating in steady-state and transient modes, including the analysis of steady-state and transient processes. The library is designed for tasks such as analyzing the thermal state of equipment components and determining heat losses in objects and engineering systems. Its functionality is based on modeling classical heat transfer mechanisms: conduction, convection, and thermal radiation.

The Heat Exchange library integrates with multidisciplinary models developed using the Thermohydraulics, Pneumatics and Automation libraries. This ensures a comprehensive approach to modeling hydraulic and pneumatic systems while accounting for thermal processes, as well as combining thermal calculations with automated control systems.

In particular, some blocks in the Thermohydraulics and Pneumatics libraries are equipped with specialized thermal ports, visually highlighted by color coding. These ports facilitate heat exchange mechanisms between components, such as modeling heat losses through pipeline walls or tanks, considering internal and external conditions.
