Parametric studies#

Parametric study of the model on the REPEAT VISION platform allows analyzing the effect of many input parameters and boundary conditions of the model on the calculation results. A parametric study allows an engineer to solve the following simulation problems:

  1. Form the field of product (or system) application through many design experiments of the product model on the REPEAT VISION platform;

  2. Determine the process modes of operation of the unit (or system);

  3. Identify unacceptable (for example, emergency) operation modes of the system;

  4. Answer the questions from the group what happens to the product if it is operated under the specified conditions?

  5. Prepare a set of input data and the corresponding set of calculation results for the subsequent creation of approximation models and machine learning models.

Hint

Parametric study allows, in the first approximation, to limit the area of successful combinations of parameters of the designed system and boundary conditions of its operation, which should be further used in the form of functional restrictions when solving the optimization task in order to accurately determine the optimal parameters.

Analysis of the results of model calculations on parameter space is carried out using charts of \(\mathbf y = f(\mathbf x)\) functions, on which the values of input parameters of the model and boundary conditions are indicated over the \(\mathbf x\) axis, and the calculation results are specified over the \(\mathbf y\) axis.

Parametric studies of the REPEAT VISION model are performed using a notebook available in the REPEAT VISION application, as well as using a repeat package designed for Python programs interaction with the REPEAT VISION platform.

Note

If you do not already know how to use the Python repeat package, then read a few tutorials before continuing with this practical guide.
